Brutalism in Motion with Locationow: Kinetic Art Takes Over Madrid

In Madrid, the idea of brutalism in motion comes to life with Cycles, a kinetic sculpture made of nine metal rings that gently spin, creating a constantly changing visual spectacle. This continuous movement transforms how we perceive space and challenges the notion of a fixed form.

The work unfolds an endless choreography where shapes intersect and blend, generating ever-changing patterns. Each turn plays with depth and motion, creating illusions that invite the viewer to see something new every moment.

Choosing the space

For this project, choosing the right location was key. At Locationow, we selected a space in Madrid with brutalist architecture that not only met the technical needs but also added a strong, sober atmosphere that perfectly matched the sculpture.

New Fresh Location – en Granada

This space retains the exposed concrete and solid structure characteristic of brutalist style, but breaks away from the rigid geometry typical of the movement by embracing curves and soft forms. In doing so, it conveys the strength and materiality of brutalism, reinterpreted through a sculptural and dynamic language that brings modernity and movement to the architecture.
